About Us

At 808 Labs we help our clients bring their sketches and ideas into the physical world. We also develop our own products and are constantly experimenting to release more complex projects as the company grows. If you have a product you’d like to prototype, or just a unique idea you need 3D printed, contact us for a quote. No matter if it’s just a 3D print or a product intended to reach the manufacturing line, we will help guide you through the development process every step of the way.

Matt Marino

Industrial Designer/Founder

808 Labs was formed because I envisioned a path that could empower others to bring their ideas to life. Rooted at the intersection of design and engineering technology, my approach to creation embraces the possibilities of the future. I strive to innovate the products I work on, igniting inspiration and fostering forward thinking.

In 2023, I graduated from Parsons School of Design in NYC with a BFA in Product Design, honing my skills in various disciplines. From 3D printing/modeling to crafting intricate electrical circuits, I possess a diverse range of skills. However, I believe that true success lies in the collaboration of specialized individuals, to achieve a successful final product. Let’s work together to transform your ideas into reality, bringing your visions to life with our collaborative efforts.

Juliet Valente Royster

Product Designer

As a designer, environmental researcher, and artist, I take a holistic approach to creating work around inclusivity, empathy, and sovereignty. Using field research to support my work, I like to think about biomimicry and closed loop systems when creating because I believe in the importance of having a symbiotic relationship with humans and the environment. I am inspired by materials and their history as well as their relationship with the environment during their lifecycle. I am also passionate about honoring ancient practices and believe in preserving the relationship between human and nature. My work can take the form of practical products that meet human needs, or conceptual pieces that start a conversation about the structures in society.

Design Store

Food Spark

Food Spark is an app that handles all things food related. The app has 5 main features. A social network, food index, order/delivery system, virtual grocery store, and business manager.

Arctic Rescue Drone

This first responder drone is designed to help save snowboarders from avalanches and other injuries while in remote, hard to access areas.

Air Shovel

A power tool shovel that can help people during a snow storm. The user would keep this tool in their trunk and instead of having to brush snow off of their car, they can turn on the shovel and let hot air do the work for them.
When the throttle grip is engaged, the tool will unleash a powerful blast of hot air, removing the snow using a force similar to a leaf blower.
Designed with a heated silicone-coated scoop, it will glide over surfaces, preventing any scratching while effectively melting away residual snow or ice build-ups.
Operates on the same type of battery a drill or other handheld power tool would use.

Tesla Lamp: Experiment in wireless energy transfer

This concept lamp is an experiment in wireless energy transfer for use in everyday objects.
The main feature of the design is a Tesla Coil which can create an electromagnetic field around it, turning the bulb on without any attached power source.
The mesmerizing plasma ball above the Tesla coil not only wirelessly powers devices, but also emanates its effects on our mental state for enhanced thinking. Similar to gazing into a fire, the aura it creates can induce a calming effect and fuels creative thinking.

ReGrip: Empowering patients recovering from spinal cord injuries

In this research project, we had the privilege of working closely with two individuals who have faced challenges with hand mobility throughout their recovery process, after suffering from spinal cord injuries. Both participants were involved in car accidents, resulting in distinct hand mobility issues. While each person’s struggles were unique to their circumstances, we also identified commonalities in their needs. This study serves as an ongoing exploration of ways to empower individuals still recovering from spinal cord injuries or other nerve-related conditions.
